During our time working in a big US automotive parts supplier we participated in the hardware design and project supervision of Smart Junction boxes development for various carmakers, e.g. Nissan, Renault, and Mitsubishi. A Smart Junction Box or so call SJB is an electronic control unit which controls vehicles functions with regards to state or transition of digital, analog input and information from the connected buses (e.g. LIN or CAN).
The difference to the conventional control units is that the SJB has already integrated Power PCB with relays and MOSFETS to drive the loads. We have designed SJB's located in the passenger and also engine bay.

 There are many automation systems in the marked, but only one exclusively based on Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) and oriented for a home environment, it is coming from the hand of CISIUM.
In this article we explain and provide the material for an open source and open hardware Wi-Fi Home automation system; this is our contribution for the community.
The principles of our proposal are:
- Easy to use, targeted for people without technical background.
- Without the necessity of any technician to install the automation system.
- Based on a standard wireless communication: Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11).
- Taking advantage of already exiting standard IT infrastructures: router, access points, etc.
- With smart phone / tables support and interaction.
- Capable to integrated 3rd party Wi-Fi devices.
- Affordable.

 We are following with huge excitement the progress of Raspberry Pi, An ARM GNU/Linux box for $25.
The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It's a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games.
They offer 2 versions: Model A ($25) that has 128Mb of RAM, one USB port and no Ethernet (network connection) and Model B ($35) has 256Mb RAM, 2 USB port and an Ethernet port.
