Peripherals and Communications


If we see CISIUM development platforms as the heart of the finish product solution, and the operation system the brain, the peripherals are the extremities of the system, which allow interaction with the world. We provide to our customers an extensive list of available peripherals using the best in class hardware and software to maximum satisfaction.

We have three categories of peripherals, related to the wired communications, for wireless communications and multimedia.

Wired communication: Ethernet (10/100Mbps),USB: (USB Host, USB Device and USB OTG. Variants USB 1.1 or USB 2.0), Modem (dat, fax, voice), RS232, RS422, RS485, etc.

Wireless communication: WiFi (802.11b and 802.11g), Bluetooth (2.0 and 3.0), GSM (Quad EGSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz), GPRS (class 10 and coding schema 1 to 4), GPS (standards NMEA 0183), etc.

Multimedia: Graphical LCD:  (gray-scale or color 16/18 and 24 bits, Optional touch screen), Alphanumeric LCD, CMOS Camera (Available up to 4 Mpixels), Audio (I2C bus, stereo audio coder-decoder), etc.

Bluegiga WT11 Class 1 Bluetoooth Module

Bluegiga WT11 BluetooothIn CISIUM one of our strategic markets is the Bluetooth communications. Bluetooth is intended for portable equipment and its applications. Bluetooth is a proprietary open wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short wavelength radio transmissions in the ISM band from 2400-2480 MHz) from fixed and mobile devices, creating personal area networks (PANs) with high levels of security.

The category of applications is outlined as the wireless personal area network (WPAN). Bluetooth is a replacement for cabling in a variety of personally carried applications in any setting and can also support fixed location applications such as smart energy functionality in the home (thermostats, etc.).

Roving Networks RN-41 Class 1 Bluetooth Module

RN-41Complementing our current portfolio of RF technologies, we have introduced Bluetooth communications from the hand of Roving Networks, a manufacture specialized in low cost and high performance Bluetooth solutions.

The Roving Networks RN-41 Class 1 Bluetooth Module is a small form factor, low power, simple to integrate Bluetooth radio for OEMs adding wireless capability to their products.

The RN-41 is perfect for battery powered applications and by default is ready to use in the SPP (Serial Port Profile) configuration. It uses only 250 uA in sleep mode while still being discoverable and connectable. Multiple low power modes available allow you to dial in the lowest power profile for your application. Read more ...

TI CC1101 Low-Power Sub-1GHz RF Transceiver

CC1101The embedded systems usually require Radio Frequency (RF) communications. In order to provide a consistence RF support for electronic product development, applicable for industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, medical devices, consumer, etc. we have included in our portfolio of peripherals the transceiver CC1100 and his evolution the CC1101 from Texas Instruments (TI).

TI is a global analog and digital semiconductor IC design and manufacturing company. In addition to analog technologies, digital signal processing (DSP) and microcontroller (MCU) semiconductors, TI designs and manufactures semiconductor solutions for analog and digital embedded and application processing. TI is very strong in RF communications solution and low power IC solutions.

Microchip MRF24WB0MA IEEE 802.11 – Wi-Fi Module

MRF24WB0MA Built-in PCB Antenna IEEE 802.11 – Wi-FiIn CISIUM we understand the importance of RF communications, and more specifically the Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11), a standard communications integrated in modern smart phones, tables and laptops. Now it is available the integration of Wi-FI communications in our embedded systems form the hand of Microchip.

Microchip has added 802.11 wireless communications to its lineup of wireless technologies for the embedded market. The Microchip embedded Wi-Fi module contains the MRF24WB0MA FCC and Wi-Fi certified module.

The Wi‐Fi MRF24WB0MA allows us to quickly create a direct connection to the Internet by seamlessly connecting to standard 802.11b/g access points. In managing the connection, the MRF24WB0MA module controls the MAC and baseband layers and is connected to the host MCU via an SPI port.

XBee/XBee-PRO RF Modules

IEEE Std 802.15.4 is created to address low-cost, low-data rate, and low-power design application for short-range Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN).

XBee and XBee-PRO 802.15.4 OEM RF modules are embedded solutions providing wireless end-point connectivity to devices. These modules use the IEEE 802.15.4 networking protocol for fast point-to-multipoint or peer-to-peer networking. They are designed for high-throughput applications requiring low latency and predictable communication timing.
